If you were hoping that a new administration would usher in a new era of transparency and openness at the BPU, we’ve got news for you. You’re going to be disappointed.

Let’s check out what happened at the last meeting. You see since we haven’t already paid enough for consultants to produce absolutely no new energy already in the last decade now, there was this agenda item:

Ok, so they wanted to name another consultant. Then they went into executive session to discuss it. But when they came out of executive session, they awarded a contract without telling the public who it was going to. How is that possible? The public shouldn’t have to search for or file OPRA requests for this information that should be easily available.

And the larger problem outside of the transparency issues, which are serious in their own right, is that we continue to spend mo’ money for no mo’ energy. Because instead of more studies, we actually need more base load generation.

We may sound like a broken record but we need less talking and studying with more building and generating. That is how we will solve our energy problems.
