We’ve talked regularly about the need for more energy in the system and last week, the Tidelands council gave a win for common sense energy policy issuing final regulatory approval to the NESE Pipeline:Make no mistake, regardless of what critics try to make people believe, this is a massive environmental and safety victory. During the period this project has lingered, demand never dissipated which meant in that time they have been driving hundreds of tanker trucks back and forth from PA through NJ to NY which will now go through a pipeline making our communities safer. And we have to ask, where were the complaints from these critics about those thousands of tanker trucks that were crossing the state daily putting everyone at greater risk? Crickets, how convenient. The fact is, pipelines continue to be the safest, cleanest, most affordable and most reliable way to move natural gas, which is going to have be an essential part any solution to our energy problems. So we hope they don’t stop here and this is only the beginning.
