The New York Times was focusing on the upcoming election in New Jersey last week and the headline for their coverage said 22% Jump in Electricity Rates Dominates New Jersey Governor’s Race.

While the headline is certainly jarring enough to get anyone’s attention, it was this quote about how energy is impacting families and the reaction it is creating among voters that got our attention:

It’s clear that the rising energy bills are getting attention. And at AENJ we have covered the misguided path of how we got here for years.

When AI was prompted to explain who was responsible for our current situation with energy prices in New Jersey and then asked more specifically about the role that policy makers played, the summary was clear:

While you can see the whole prompt and conversation here for yourself, it’s clear that politicians and voters are paying attention because there is lots of talk on the campaign trail. At AENJ we will stay in our lane and just keep pointing out the facts around energy and let the voters make their choices.

But at some point, someone is going to have to start working on solutions instead of developing talking points that ignore reality. Otherwise the problem is only going to continue getting worse.
