Politicians might think it is ok to point fingers while failing to do anything meaningful to solve the problems we are facing. But businesses need more certainty. They need to deal with the world as it is, not some dream reinforced by talking points that don’t match their bottom line.

And what it seems businesses have decided is that they cannot rely on policy makers to fix the energy problems so according to a new report, they are bypassing the grid and building their own power:

The market is reflecting the fact that our regulatory framework has become a hinderance to technological and market advancements. Many regulations aren’t protecting consumers, they are significantly harming them.

And it is not that they are just planning to build their own power, it’s the type of power they are choosing to build:

Just like we saw in Princeton, these data centers have chosen to build their own microgrid centered around natural gas. Technology, like water, will always find a way to advance forward meaning we will need more energy to keep up with demand. Whether you like it or hate it, it is still happening. The question becomes what do we do to meet the moment and demand.

The simple fact is that in the absence of any type of leadership on issues surrounding energy, the market is dictating what energy source is fastest and most reliable for these data centers and that’s clearly natural gas.
