Anyone who has read this weekly email or followed the work of AENJ knows that we believe sunlight is the best disinfectant. They know that we have called for more transparency on our energy policy for years.

In fact, we’ve kept a running count in this very email that we update each week counting the number of days since the BPU has released the first Energy Master Plan while still hiding the costs. So you could imagine our surprise when we saw Legislative leaders join the call for transparency, but not from the people who have created our energy policies:

While we welcome the calls for transparency, the problem is they missed the mark. The leadership has the wrong 3 letters in terms of who they want facts from. For nearly 2,200 days, the BPU has continuously failed to release details including the cost of the policies they are proposing in the energy master plan, but now the Legislature wants transparency?

If they’re so interested in getting the facts and full transparency, maybe they can join AENJ and train their sights back in state by asking the BPU some questions too.
