As NJ continues to talk about affordability without much actual getting done when it comes to energy, we can look to our neighbors NY and PA and see them taking action.
According to a memo from the NY State Energy Research and Development Authority, which is not a partisan organization, if changes aren’t made to their already enacted energy policies, significant cost increases are coming for everyone:
The memo makes clear that “addressing this cost escalation is essential to deliver a policy that supports affordability and economic competitiveness…”
So as New York is warning about the impending iceberg that is right ahead and trying to take actions to mitigate the impacts, Pennsylvania is showing how you can take steps to turn away and avoid the disaster altogether:
This is what adopting an all of the above energy policy actually looks like because as they pursue renewable options, Pennsylvania is ensuring they have enough base load energy to meet the demand of their residents and businesses.
And how about New Jersey? Will we follow the lead of our neighbors first by being honest about the impact and challenges that these bad policy choices have led us to like NY? Will we then take actions like PA to turn things in a better direction and put our money where our mouth is supporting more base load generation? That’s what we will keep pushing for at AENJ.
