There’s been lots of talk about bad news when it comes to energy and rates, but this week actually brought some good news about emissions.
Check out this chart that Axios put together to illustrate the progress that has been made in the last two decades reducing CO2 emissions around the country:
Now obviously each state has taken their own approach to achieve progress. And some states have seen more progress than others, but Axios looked at what most contributed to reductions across the board:
That’s why we keep talking so much about needing more baseload supply with natural gas as a part of the solution. Because if we want to meet goals of reducing emissions, keep the lights on and make sure that energy is affordable, we can’t have leaders continuing to ignore the energy source that has had the largest impact in recent years.
