When you find yourself in a hole, the first step to getting out is to stop digging. Yet instead of doing that, it sems like NJ and our leaders are doing everything they can to make the hole even bigger.
With energy rates rising across the state, NJ decided to hold hands with other states and make the problem worse by accelerating efforts by adding on additional RGGI mandates to the many mandates we have that are already driving up costs:
At AENJ we’ve always believed that RGGI is an unnecessary additional levels of red tape. NJ – when it produced more power – would already sell to the grid to generate revenue for programs. All RGGI does is take an additional cut for the “privilege” of being a member of the virtue signal club.
The solution to the problem is very simple. We need more generation and that means more base load power plants. Yet this new announcement will only make achieving that solution even harder. So if the solution is simple, we are left to ask why are we making it so complicated and restricting our ablity to solve the problem?
The simple fact that we are left with is that the state does not want to solve the problem and this is just the latest example.
