Guess what, we still need more energy. And in order to get more energy, we need more pipelines.

A new study was released that makes clear that we need more pipelines to add capacity so that we can meet continued growing demand:

The study says that North America needs nearly 40,000 miles of new natural gas pipeline and a 39% increase in transmission capacity to meet rising demand by 2052. In New Jersey, we’ve had our opportunities to build more but instead we have rejected numerous pipelines projects and adding insult to injury, they rejected compressor stations and power plants too.

While the cancelled projects may make opponents feel like they are achieving something, these projects would have lowered prices, provided additional revenue to social programs, would have reduced emissions. Stopping that type of progress is nothing to celebrate.
