Another Delay: NJ Falls Further Behind Charging Infrastructure Plans
New Jersey continues to fall further behind when it comes to installing the infrastructure needed for the electric vehicle transition called for in the Energy Master Plan. In fact, we rank only 28th among 50 states with vehicle chargers according to a new study:
On top of that, those chargers we do have aren’t enough to ensure drivers will reach their destination:
This is a critical piece to ensuring that NJ’s proposed plans for electric vehicles are able to be realized. This lack of significant progress is just not going to get the job done. It’s the latest example of why we continue to say can’t afford to pick winners and losers. Because in the end, we will all end up losing when plans and proposals become nothing more than words on paper as you are stranded on the side of the road.
